About the Art on the

Murals are sources of inspiration and community-building. As public works, they invite us into their vibrant beauty and political commentary even as we move about the neighborhood. For us, they evoke the work of justice leaders and organizations. We have researched the tags of each mural artist and put the information we found by our photo of the mural below. We have reached out to each of the artist and ask for permission to use their art as well as payment. In collective honor of their contributions to the commons of San Miguel de Allende, where we live and work, we have made a donation to Collectivo 41, the first and only youth-led, community-based organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI) people in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
